Sets and shots

The place where i have decided to film most of the trailer is in or near to my house this is because it is easy to access and i can film there at any time. Shots that i have decided to film are the wife finding out of the affair and smashing thing inside the house and going mad. another shot is the wife in a car and showing full beem light reving a car in the road. Also a shot of the lover all covered in blood and the wife following close behind with a weapon.

The story line

My story line starts with a happily married husband (Dan) and wife (Sarah) out on a walk. He goes to a party with out his wife and cheats on his wife and she finds out that this has happened. The wife turns psycho and goes after the woman that her husband cheated with she tries to kill her and follows her. The husband must decide to stop his wife and save his lover or let his wife enact her revenge and keep his wife. The wife then turns on him and he ends up in deep trouble not knowing if he will live or die.

This is a picture of a mens polo shirt i have put this up here to show the type of casual wear that my actor will be using. i have chosen to use this casual wear to show it is just like every day life and that this story can apply to anyone, this will also mean a wide audience can relate to the film.

Another film trailer that i have looked at is Nightmare On Elm Street one of the best horror movies of all time. This trailer does not tell you who is the main character and keeps his image very low key. This adds to the tension that it tries to build up with the other images of the killing that it shows. Another part that i like is the voice over and how the deep voice captures the mood of the film so well.
I can learn from this trailer that the telling of the story does not need to be done in the images that are used and that the voice over can be very effective.

As a class we watch the spider man two trailer to get a feel of what a trailer uses to gain big audiences. What i liked about the trailer was the way that it managed to build up the story with the music that it used and the shots used getting more dramatic and the way the shots were edited to get faster. Also the slides that it adds telling the audience what spider man will face is great as it again builds the trailer up.
I can learn from this trailer that music is all important in making a traoler work and that quick fast editing is a fantastic effect that i will be using in my trailer.

To gain an audience which includes alot of people and is diverse with men and woman i have decided to base my trailer on a psycho romance. This is because a romance in a story creates interest from female viewers who are more likely to see the film if it has somthing that they are interested in. A horror makes people get glued to watching trailer as it builds up an atmosphere that means poeple have to see what happens this is good as more people get drawn in. Men sterotypicaly like to see violence and action in films so my trailer will appeal to this audience and get mentioned by word of mouths growing popularity.

I have chosen this trailer from the 1960s version of psycho because i believe it interesting in the way it keeps the audience interested with the different shots it uses and the mood it creates with the type of music. This is an old style trailer and i like the way it gives part of the story away but not to much that it allows the audience to keep quessing.From this trailer i understand that putting questions in peoples head is an important part of making a trailer work so that the audience wants to go and see the real film.

spider diagram

The first thing that i have decided to do is create a spider diagram which will hopfully get me ideas. This will contain every thing i need to make the trailer and start to build up an idea that i can then make into a story and then put down into a script and storyboard.

The start of year 13

Year 13 has started and the first piece of work that we have to do is a short teaser trailer. we will be looking at many different items of work to see how they work and pass the message on to the audience. To create my piece of work i will also be showing clearly how i have come up with my ideas and getting opinions from people so that i know what people think and like.

I liked the camera shots and angles u used, was very creative. but the camera was a bit shaky, so if u made it more steady it would have looked more proffesional. I like the title, it sounds interesting n makes me want to watch the film. The sound was a bit jumpy so it would have been better if u had lowered the noise in parts u dont need and added a quiet soundtrack in the background which creates tension n suspension.

I enjoyed it though, the boys were funny! Well Done :D x

I was quite pleased with my finale product i believe that my strongest point were my editing and the shots that i have used to slowly bring a story together. If i were to do this project again i would make shore that there was more dialoge and so making the story line better and making it easyer for people to follow. i may put in music but i think the natural sounds of the gravil crunching build up tension and the TV in the house a good background noise which keeps people wondering.

The preliminary exercise helped me to get to grips with the type of shots that i could use and the working of the camera. In my preliminary task i did make error with the amount of camera shots that i used and the editing was not always in sink.

Using technology

The editing soft ware that i used enabaled me to link different shots together and create a better story. the technology that obstructed me was the soft ware which was hard to understand and meant i had less time to film because of the time it took to learn how all the applications worked.

Audience

My target audience is a young male audience who likes a thriller an a bit of violence in there film this may be at that expense of the storyline. the target audience is a big one and the people in this group are the most likely to go out and watch a film. I think my research into films changed my pre-production process as in quite alot of films similar to mine there is not alot of dialoge and the action has a large role in telling the story.
In the filming and editing the meaning of the film is made apparent with the the props used and the dialoge that is in the film. Creative decisions that i have made that were influenced because of the audience which i am targeting are the added comedy and the fight scene that is in there.
The target audience responded positivly to the trialled aspect that i showed them. I don't believe that interpretations of my film will vary on the cultural situation of the viewer.

i liked the incredible shots u used aswell as the degree in which u edited the film... truly a speilberg level of filmiing... however the sotry line was very vauge as he went into an unknown house to have a shower and change bk into wt he was previously wearing.. strange idea if u ask me but somehow, i think it works... nice contrast of different shots to give the effect you were going for. lots of different angles and fairly easy to understand storyline.

Though maybe i think the lighting could be improoved, it may have been the camera or just the time of day of which you filmed, it does not effect the film that much.

Nice KD nice, i thought the storyline wasa bit... weird and it dosent really make sense. Other than that i thought the editing was good and the camera shots used made me feel like i was in the cinema! :D

That was really well edited all the different shots that were used worked really well together:) Its different and makes you want to know what else has happened in the story and what else is going to happen.

reprsentations

the people that i am trying to represent are the new type of gang members that live in brtian today they are people who are not scared to kill or carry a gun. i have achieved this by the mise-en-scene that i have used and the people who play the charaters. The place that i have set my film is a normal house that is off a main road somewhere this type of activity might happen.The time period for my peace is now as the clouths and the house with all todays things in.

in the filming of the clip i follwed the rules of makeing a film and managed to get alot of interesting shots and when edited works well to create tension and keeps the audience intersted.
The film that i have made conforms to the genre as it is a thriller and has the characterists of one it has tension and a fight scene which shows that it lives up to the audiences expectations. i think that the film challenges the conventions of the genre with the comedy that is in the film.
the type of audience that i am trying to please in this film is a young male viewer as it fulfills there expectations of violence and humour that many big film producers use to capture the same audience.

introduction

my main film is called killer runner and it is about a man on the run from a rival gang member and how he comes to an end. ideas came from the bourne films and peaces of music i had listerned to. There are two main characters one has got part of his revenge on his rivals sister. there is also a third character who owns the house and takes matters into his own hands.

I have choosen this video to analysis as this is the song that i want in my film the tune is great and goes well with the type of film i made the lyrics are in themselves telling part of the story. The music is quite lively and has a fast beat which builds up tension and keeps peope interested on the film. I have to chose music to fit the type of film and the action that is going on in the film i also needed ideas for how to shoot my film so i went on you tube to look up music and videos that i want to get ideas from.

I am making a film for my Media project and the film is going to be about gangsters. The film is about a gang member escaping jail and the rival gang hearing about this and going out to kill him when he arrives at home. This film will be filmed at my friends house to make the film look more real and fits the scene. I will be asking my friends to play the charachters in my film as i am doing the project on my own an so was filming it rather than being in it.
